2009 Kia Optima

Re: 09 Optima Web Site Now Up [csandste]

I went to the site and noticed one really BIG thing on the Build and Price section: it appears ESC is now standard on every trim level, including the base LX 5MT!!! This is a very pleasant surprise, since it was never mentioned in any of Kia's announcements about the 2009 Optima. I would think they would have made a bigger deal out of it, since not that many mid-sized ... Read More...

Kia Optima Prices Paid and Buying Experience

2008 Optima EX V6

My parents are being offered 19,900 for a 2008 EX V6 with Sunroof, leather, ESC package. MSRP 23,900. 3500 off in rebates and another 500 just to hit my mom's goal of being under 20K. Are there any other incentives out there we don't know about? Any more wiggle room in KIA? They're not into haggling. But its a bit more car than they wanted. They just wanted a sunroof ... Kia Optima 2006.5-2008

New to Optima

Bought a 2007 with 14k on the odometer a couple of weeks ago from CarMax. My 2001 Ford Focus hit 99k and started falling apart at all ends. Read many articles on the net before I decided to buy this car. Tried out Camry and Accord but they were out of my price range. I guess it's true that those two hold strong resale value. What I read on the Optima... it's well built and ... Read More...

Re: Four cylinger: 20.3-- mostly around town [mickeyrom]

The stock KUMHO tires on the 2008 Optima have a max pressure of 44psi and KIA recommends 30psi. I split the difference and run at approximately 37psi. Changing over to nitrogen to replace the air is also an added bonus to prolong the life of the tire. But the most important aspect the I have found to increase mpgs is my speed; keeping 60-65mph does decrease gas consumption. Read More...

Kia Optima 2006.5-2008

Re: EX I4--leather or not? [backy]

I purchased a 2006.5 Kia Optima in January of this year. It was the Lx v6 with the appearance package. No leather. Even though it was 2008 the car was still brand new and I got the car for 14,250. The car is great. I also found out from numerous people and consumer reports that it is very hard to find the ESC/ABS on these cars. I wonder why that is. Fortunately mine came ... Read More...

Kia body designs rock! They really do...I took a look at the new world order Kia Optima but decided to go with the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS. The Lancer's body style has me mesmerized it's so cool. But Kia outdoes Honda, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota in body designing. The Optima's design lines are clean and smart. Kia's and Hyundai's aren't "perfect" cars, crossovers ... Read More...

Re: EX I4--leather or not? [mickeyrom]

I think things may have changed for 2008. I happen to have a brochure from 2007 and it mentions a "leather package" for the EX. No such package now on the EX. I did go to kia.com, "build your own" or whatever. Also the list of features there--where it shows both leather and cloth checked off for the EX I4. :confuse: Anyway, it may be a moot point. Last night I checked inventory ... Read More...

Leather on Optimas is an option. Not sure about 2008s,but in 2006.5 you had a leather package or an appearance package. They have some weird ways of equipping their cars, If you go to www.kia.com and "build" an Optima, you'll get the idea. Read More...
