EDITORS' RATINGS OVERALL SCORE:

Overall

RATING

Rondo is reasonably comfortable and simple by design. It performs the task of moving occupants from point A to B without headache, or insipiration.

DETAILED EDITORS' RATINGS

Dynamics

RATING

Adequate engine, handling and brakes. There isn't anything wrong with the way the Rondo behaves, but it doesn't inspire one to go out for a drive just for the heck of it.

Comfort

RATING

The Kia Rondo rides well and provides a comfortable environment for the driver and passenger.

Function

RATING

Drivers will find the Rondo's controls to be simple, complete and easy to work. In the five-passenger version, the Rondo provides a good amount of shortage and cargo space. But those who actually need three-row seating should look elsewhere; the Rondo's third seat is small and inconvenient to use, and cargo space drops to nil when it's deployed.

Design/Build Quality

RATING

No one is likely to rave about the exterior, but the interior is both thoughtfully functional and pleasing to the eye. Most of the controls are nicely weighted and feel appropriately solid. Assembly quality and material choices are slightly above average.

DETAILED PROFILE:

Family Friendly Rondo is much easier for kids to get in and out of than a larger SUV. And it's easier to park than an SUV or a minivan.

Economical Transportation Those who can do without a full-size minivan can save money by choosing a Rondo.

Cargo Hauler Small families and the practically-minded will find that the Rondo provides a lot of capability in a small package.
