Thanks for the insights. I had to put the Sportage on hold because I couldn't get the price I needed for our minivan. Also I noticed the lease deal on the Sportage is not as good now as it was in July. So I'll keep an eye on incentives as we get closer to the end of the year--hopefully they'll increase. Well I had an "expert" do a report on my car. He took pictures, etc and stated that the damage was not as a result of the work that was done on my vehicle and that it was a failed U-joint which had apparently dried out and corroded and literally snapped. Recently purchased a 2008 Kia Sportage LX in the base 4-cylinder, 5-speed manual transmission configuration. For the first 750 miles it has averaged 30 mpg on mostly rural highways, which I consider quite good for a 3300-lb. vehicle.
